THE PROCESS

A COLLECTION PROCESS STARTS MONTHS IN ADVANCE. DECIDING COLOR HUES, SAMPLING COLOR COMBINATIONS, DESIGNING A MOOD BOARD AND CONCEPT.
SPECIALIZED ARTISANS HAND CARVE THE INTRICATE DESIGNS ONTO WOODEN BLOCKS FROM TEAK WOOD. EACH DESIGN MAY INVOLVE TWO OR MORE BLOCKS DEPENDING ON HOW INTRICATE THE DESIGN IS AND COLORS USED.
NATURAL DYES ARE THEN COMBINED TO CREATE THE DESIRED COLOR COMBINATION FOR THE PRINTING PROCESS. EACH BLOCK IS DIPPED INTO THE DYES AND STAMPED INTO 100% COTTON FABRIC WITH PRECISION.
WE LOVE WHAT THIS TEXTILE TRADITION, DATING BACK OVER 3,000 YEARS, HOLDS TO THE INDIAN’S CULTURAL HERITAGE. THE NATURAL PROCESS, SLIGHT IMPERFECTIONS AND SLOW PRINTING TECHNIQUES ARE WHAT MAKE THIS CRAFTMANSHIP UNQIUE.
